A rough spell
We have just turned a corner from a rough couple of weeks. Last Thursday, Rowen was hospitalized. Turns out she contracted a bacterial infection (What?, How? remains a mystery). We were in the hospital for 6 days. I would take the day shift and Troy the night. Poor Noah was shuffled in between there some how. After being released on Tuesday this week, we had to return to the hospital everyday (Wed.-Sat.) to receive antibiotic treatments via IV.
Can't say I was impressed with the hospital/care. Language was certainly a part of that, but stress and culture played a part as well. It could be worse, thankfully we have access to medical care and our little girl is better and home! Our kids have been sick quite a bit ...one thing after another. I guess it takes time to build up new immunities. Sigh.
So we get home ...then the earthquakes start! Ugh. No damage or injuries but unnerving. Apparently Verona sits near two fault lines. Both of those were stressed this week and moved.
I am really ready for a smooth stretch of road!
La Befana
This is the witch La Befana. She is the one who fills stocking in Verona -not on December 25 but on January 6. In Verona, a large crowd comes out to burn this statue of her. Here is a link if you are curious about her story and why. And yes, it is/was creepy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Befana |

Watch out Harry Potter :) Noah experienced a sparkler for the first time on Jan. 1 2012 |
Yep -just an average 'ol night at the Taylor's. I think we are going to put some "crazy-fun" into this year :) |
At least my picture isn't scary. This one would cause someone to wonder and feel the need to check in on the children. Maybe that's not a bad idea ...please come check on us! :) |
Got in on clothing exchange with some moms ...my girl sporting a cute skirt and ughs |
A certain teacher at their school has taking a liking to the kids ...Rowen has fun new rain boots now. Thank you Karen. |
